Find You

Silent love is calling faith
To shatter me through your hallways
Into echoes you can feel
And rehearse the way you heal
Make them dance
Just like you
'Cause you make me move
Yeah you always make go
I'll run away with your foot steps
I'll build a city that dreams for two
And if you lose yourself
I will find you
High on words
We almost used
We're fireworks with a wet fuse
Flying planes with paper wheels
To the same Achilles heels
Make them dance
Just like you
'Cause you make me move
Yeah you always make go
I'll run away with your foot steps
I'll build a city that dreams for two
And if you lose yourself
I will find you
(Yeah you always make me go)
Open up your skies
Turn up your night
To the speed of life
Turn up your night
Put your love in lights
Turn up your night
I will find you
Make them dance
Just like you
'Cause you make me move
Yeah you always make go
(Yeah you always make me go)
I'll run away with your foot steps
I'll build a city that dreams for two
And if you lose yourself
I will find you
(Yeah you always make me go go go go go)
Turn up your night
(Go go go go)
Turn up your night
(Go go go go turn it up turn it up)
Turn up your night
I will find you
Make them dance
Just like you
'Cause you make me move
Yeah you always make go

REFLECTION:
I really enjoyed this unit. I especially loved the writing with light pictures. They were fun to do and take pictures of. It was almost like taking a video inside of a picture. I also enjoyed the frozen motion pictures too because it was almost as if I could freeze time and catch a genuine photo that wasn't exactly being posed for. My favorite shot would have to be the writing with light because I think it looks the most professional. I like how the subject is being showcased by the lighten initials. This was probably my favorite unit (or the lighting final unit... it's a tie). Also, I liked how abstract the flowers look when I zoomed in and zoomed out on them. The panning was very difficult to do because I had to get the subject as clear as possible and have the background be blurry completely. The blurred subject was cool to do too. I liked how her legs looked so ghost like while keeping the rest of the picture clear.

Proposal for Motion Unit

Panning

I plan to go to open gym at tumbling and get pictures of the girls tumbling
and try to one clear and the others blurry. The lighting in the gym is pretty dark
so I think this might work out well because I will have to have my shutter speed relatively slower.

Blurred Subject

I like this idea of having someone sit on the swing and have them
swing back and forth. I probably will do something similar to this
with my sister but possibly on the trampoline because her and I
are more into tumbling together. I will have to make sure that I
keep the camera stable and the shutter speed on the slower side.
Also, I need to make sure I'm not letting to much light in with the
Aperture. I have to make sure to have a small depth of field so that
I can focus the background but blur her, and to make sure that not
a lot of light is coming in.

                                            Frozen Motion

I have to make sure that my shutter speed is very fast and that my aperture is very low so that I have a large depth of field and that I'm letting a lot of light in. I plan to have someone jump in the air and try to get everything clear.

                                                Zooming

I think it would be cool if I took Karmen and I had her jump in the air and then zoom in and then zoom out.

                                          Writing with Light

For writing with light, I thought about having Karmen sit in a chair and then use a lighter and wrap it around the chair to make it look like she is sitting on fire.

Interviewing Karmen

For the Lighting Final Project, I chose my sister to be my model. At first she said that she did not want to be my model because she did not want me to dress her up or something like that. I told her that she only had to be herself and I just wanted to capture her personality. I told her that this project had to be about the most important person in my life. She started giggling when I told her that. I asked her what she thought about the project and she said that she thought it was impressive that I knew all of these things about the camera. She also said it was really fun because it was another thing we got to do together. She said she had a lot of fun doing the photos because she could be silly and it was cool having her big sister use her for the project. Now Karmen wants me to take more pictures of her and even her friends. This project was really interesting because Karmen is not someone who likes to get her picture taken or be at the center of attention. Although, she said that she was okay with being a little silly with this project because the pictures had a meaning to them. I was really impressed with her answers because I think she understood that these pictures are really special. I could have picked anyone and I picked her. She said she was really happy that I picked her because she thought I would have picked one of my friends. I responded and I told her that she is my number one friend so there was no question about who I was going to pick.

Karmen

My younger sister Karmen is very important in my life. She is not only my sister but she is my best friend. We do almost everything together. Her personality is over the top. I admire how she doesn't care what other people think of her. She is so important to me because I know that she looks up to me and she makes me want to be a better person. I took her pictures around our house because I know that we drive our family crazy because we are always running around the house together. I edited the photos in black and white when she is being serious and let the ones that she is happy and funny in color. I tried to emphasize the mood differences in her. Although she can be difficult sometimes, she is generally such a good person. She always thinks of me wherever she is. Even when she's at the grocery store with my parents, she'll ask to get something just because I like it. I know that no matter how badly I mess up, she'll be there for me. This lighting unit was very interesting to work with because you could manipulate the light to showcase their personality. I tried to use the natural and existing light for her funny personalities. I used the artificial lights for her more serious personality. Even though she doesn't have a mean bone in her body, she can act like a little devil. But, that's what keeps our relationship interesting. We may fight but that's what all siblings do. I really enjoyed this unit because I could really represent her personality through different lighting scenarios. I liked how I could make her face so dark in the one silhouette picture and have it be compared to the really bright happy picture in the middle. I made the smiling picture be the center because that's what most people see about her; but all of the smaller pictures are the personalities that maybe not everyone else sees but me.

Silhouettes

Q&A

I loved working with these informal silhouettes because you could do the craziest pose you wanted to do without looking stupid. I loved the way that you could use photoshop in this type of editing. You could definitely express a lot of personality with the shots and edits. It was very easy to use once you got the hang of it too. I loved the outcomes because it's amazing how you could manipulate the lights and manipulate cropping and editing. They look like you would have had to put a lot of work into these but they were so easy and fun to make.

Writing Reflection:

I have learned that light can really make or break your pictures. The more light you have to work with seems to make your pictures look so much more clear and clean. If I were to do this project again I would definitely jump at the studio time more because you can go next to a big window and get results but it's a bit more difficult to use artificial studio lights and have results turn out your way.

Final Project Composition

These pictures represent my daily life. I used the first dark picture of my house at night to represent worm's eye view. I remember thinking my house was so tall and big when I was little. So, it would make sense to take a picture of me looking up at my house. The next picture the the right, is a picture of the mountains I pass going up to my grandparents. This picture represents framing. Personally, I think the trees hide the mountains in the spring and summer, but by winter time, the trees lose their beauty only to show off the mountain's. The next picture on the bottom left is a picture of flowers my boyfriend got me. He gets me flowers once a month just because. The flowers are very meaningful to me. They represent variety because of all of the different, vibrant colors. The next picture is a picture of my shrubs in front of my porch. They never lose their color and look beautiful all year round. This picture represents repetition because of the repeating shapes of the leaves. The shrubs thick green color continues to repeat itself year round. The last picture is of my one dog Dixie. My mom and I always make jokes about how she's dark black and she thinks she can blend into light color furniture. Dixie likes to sit on my ivory colored been bag in my room everyday and just looks so innocent. (But she's not :) ) This picture represent emphasis because of her dark fur up against the light ivory furniture.
These pictures also represent my daily life. I used the blinds and the candle as simplicity. I tried to have a simple white photo with minimal colors in it. The picture is mainly focused on the orange glow coming from the candle. Every morning I wake up, the candles are the first things I see. The next picture to the right of it is our formal dining room. I used symmetrical balance to try to make the picture flow more. We only use this dining room on special occasions or for holidays so this room is always festive. The picture of the strings of the piano represent leading lines. For some reason I am always mesmerized by how the million different direction of strings can make such beautiful music. My friends are very important to me. I spend 6 or 7 days a week with them for 2 and more hours for 11 months so you can imagine how close we become. I used bird's eye view to show two of my really good friends, but try to connect the rest of my team/ second family in the background. Every day I walk off of my porch to get to the bus and the snow was sparkling that morning so I took a picture of it to represent texture. I'm not a big fan of winter but I do love snow when it's a pretty white, sparkly texture.
